About University of Zambia

The University of Zambia was conceptualized ad established in 1965 guided by the motto “service and excellence”. The university reimagines the concept of pursuing Knowledge, Innovation and Social Responsiveness in education. The mission of the university is to achieve socio-economic development through relevant and innovative higher education. The philosophies of the institution are reflected in its core values encompassing Academic Freedom, Accountability, Equity, Excellence, Green Environment, Innovation and Integrity. These values are reflected in the courses offered by the university in graduate, postgraduate, short term and distance learning. Some of the many subjects that the university offers the aforementioned courses in are Agricultural Sciences, Education, engineering, health sciences, humanities and metallurgy.
