Idea invoked in 1898 by Lord Kitchener, the predecessor that has become the University of Khartoum, Gordon Memorial College, was officially opened in 1902. With the aim to create of a unified, developed and advanced Nation, through academics and research, the university strives to establish itself as a leading national institution aspiring to occupy a leading international position.
