The Usmanu Danfodiyo University was established in 1975 by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The university currently imparts education in the fields of 10 faculties and a postgraduate school that include the departments of Agriculture, Arts and Islamic Studies, College of Health Sciences, Education and Extention Services, Law, Management Sciences, pharmaceutical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. The university’s vision is as determined as its establishment i.e. to be the center of educational excellence through teaching, research and community service for all human endeavors. Upholding and developing the ideals of the community, preserving the cultural heritage and promoting the nation’s unity through education and research are the guides the university follows for dissemination the knowledge to individuals without discrimination on basis of social class, gender, race, nationality and religion.
