About Fudan University

The Fudan University was established in 1905, as the first institution of higher learning independently in China. The institution offers programs and education in 11 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management, and art including 79 undergraduate majors, 37 first-level discipline doctoral degrees, 43 first-level discipline master degrees. The 3139 teaching and research personnel in the institution imparts knowledge and education to over 13991 general undergraduate and junior college students and 22,232 postgraduates’ students. The institution facilitates practical learning through 5 national key laboratories, 1 national mathematics center, 1 national key research base for textbook construction, 2 national clinical medicine research centers, 1 national manufacturing innovation center, 7 engineering research centers of the Ministry of Education, 9 key laboratories of the Health Commission, 1 key laboratory of the Ministry of Health of the General Logistics Department, 15 Shanghai Key Laboratories and 11 Shanghai Engineering Research Centers. The students, staff and university believes in leading and serving the progress of the entire society and the progress of human civilization through education.
