About Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences

The institute Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences was established in 1983 to provide postgraduate training to medical and nonmedical professionals. The university offers senior residency training programmes. B.Sc. Nursing course and BSc / MSc paramedical technology courses in allied sciences. The students from the institution proceed to pursue D.M., M.Ch., M.D., Ph.D., postdoctoral fellowships, postdoctoral certificate courses in various disciplines. The motto behind the establishment is to enhance teaching through research, promoting services through teaching and services opening room for development and new investigations. Neurology, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Clinical Immunology, Medical Genetics, Nephrology, Urology, Medical and Surgical Gastroenterology, Medical and Surgical Endocrinology, along with Pathology, Microbiology, Transfusion Medicine, Radiodiagnosis, Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, Anaesthesiology and Biostatistics are some of the subjects that the university deals in.
