Fisheries Research Institute is established with the vision of excellence for tropical fisheries research and works with the endeavor of scientific knowledge and expertise for sustainable development of the fisheries sector. This establishment also takes up projects such as study is to assess the concentration of selected heavy metals in waters, invention of a device (FISHMiP) that can inform fisherman their fishing zone and boundaries between the states, identifying and research of aquatic species and sustainable development of aquatic ecosystem.
