Sustainable Chemistry: From Reactions to Bioprocess Innovation

This Special Issue of the Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences (JBRES) invites high-quality submissions that strengthen the evidence base for sustainable chemical processes. We welcome work that advances green reactions & catalysis, develops bioprocess innovations, and demonstrates environmental & industrial effectiveness across diverse applications and scales.

Green Reactions & Catalysis
Biocatalysis, mechanochemistry, green solvents (DES, bio-based), photocatalysis, solvent-free processes, atom-efficient synthesis.
Bioprocess & Innovation
Biomass valorization, renewable feedstocks, bio-based materials, circular processes, waste-to-value conversion, scalable bioprocessing.

About this Special Issue

Chemical innovation is strongest when it connects efficient reactions with resource stewardship and meaningful sustainability outcomes. This Special Issue focuses on sustainable chemistry—from green synthetic methods and catalysis to bioprocess engineering, renewable resources, and circular economy principles. We especially welcome submissions that report transparent methods, practical endpoints, and insights that can reduce environmental impact, enhance resource efficiency, and support long-term industrial viability.

Preference is given to studies with clear outcomes (yield, E-factor, carbon footprint reduction), robust analysis, and a concise “What this changes in practice” statement.
