CrossRef Similarity Check

JBRES is committed to publication ethics and originality. All submissions may be screened using similarity-detection tools to help identify potential overlap, ensure proper citation, and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record prior to publication.

The credibility and accuracy of papers published is dependent on the method of peer review and is at the core of scientific publishing. Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences, as a member of CrossRef, is dedicated to helping the members of Crossref and the scientific research community by strictly preventing academic and skilled plagiarism by offering immediate feedback. We contribute every published article to CrossRef to create a unique database in order to avoid plagiarism and verify the originality of submitted manuscripts.

There is an absence of consensus or clear-cut guidelines about what proportion of plagiarism in a manuscript is appropriate. A text similarity below 20% is usually appropriate by our journals. Cases of suspicion or identification of plagiarism are not confined to a single journal or publisher. We therefore use numerous tools to inform academics about ethical guidelines when producing manuscripts.

The estimation of the similarity percentage - the total number of corresponding terms contained in the text divided by the document's total word count.
