Population Health Now: Epidemiology, Community Systems & Rare Disorders

This Special Issue of the Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences (JBRES) invites high-quality submissions that strengthen the evidence base for population health and epidemiology. We welcome work that advances surveillance & risk assessment, strengthens community health systems, and demonstrates integrated approaches to rare disorders & equity across diverse populations and settings.

Epidemiology & Surveillance
Population-level data, rare disease registries, health equity analysis, outbreak modeling, social determinants, big data integration.
Community Systems & Rare Disorders
Integrated care models, community interventions, rare disease policy, diagnostic equity, public health integration, underserved access.

About this Special Issue

Population health is strongest when epidemiology connects with community systems and addresses overlooked priorities like rare disorders. This Special Issue focuses on population health now—from epidemiological surveillance and health equity to integrated community models, rare disease challenges, and policy-relevant strategies. We especially welcome submissions that report transparent methods, practical endpoints, and insights that can improve access, reduce disparities, and enhance long-term well-being across populations.

Preference is given to studies with clear outcomes (incidence/prevalence, equity metrics, system performance), robust analysis, and a concise “What this changes in practice” statement.
