One Health in Action: Veterinary Science and Comparative Biology

This Special Issue of the Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences (JBRES) invites high-quality submissions that strengthen the evidence base for One Health approaches. We welcome work that advances comparative models & insights, addresses zoonotic & emerging threats, and demonstrates integrated effectiveness across animal, human, and environmental interfaces.

Zoonoses & Comparative Models
Zoonotic diseases, comparative oncology/immunology, wildlife sentinels, vector-borne threats, animal models for human health.
AMR & Ecosystem Health
Antimicrobial resistance, food safety, environmental interfaces, climate impacts, surveillance & implementation strategies.

About this Special Issue

One Health is strongest when it connects veterinary science and comparative biology with real-world outcomes across species and ecosystems. This Special Issue focuses on One Health in action—from zoonotic disease prevention and antimicrobial resistance to wildlife interfaces, comparative models, and policy-relevant translation. We especially welcome submissions that report transparent methods, practical endpoints, and insights that can improve health equity, sustainability, and resilience.

Preference is given to studies with clear outcomes (disease prevention, resistance patterns, ecosystem impacts), robust analysis, and a concise “What this changes in practice” statement.
