Special Issue Title

Microbes in Focus: Virology, Microbiology & Host–Pathogen Dynamics

This Special Issue of the Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences (JBRES) invites high-quality submissions that strengthen the evidence base for microbial pathogenesis and host responses. We welcome work that elucidates molecular mechanisms, reveals host-pathogen interactions, and demonstrates clinical & real-world implications across emerging pathogens, resistance, and immune evasion strategies.

Virology & Mechanisms
Viral replication, entry/fusion, immune evasion, antiviral resistance, zoonotic spillover, giant viruses, emerging RNA/DNA viruses.
Host–Pathogen Dynamics
Innate/adaptive immunity, microbiome crosstalk, epigenetic/metabolic reprogramming, organoids/models, spatial transcriptomics, virulence factors.

About this Special Issue

Microbial research is strongest when it connects molecular insights with host responses and practical outcomes. This Special Issue focuses on virology and microbiology—from viral/bacterial pathogenesis and host-pathogen crosstalk to antimicrobial resistance, emerging threats, and translational applications. We especially welcome submissions that report transparent methods, robust endpoints, and insights that can improve diagnostics, vaccines, and long-term infectious disease control.

Preference is given to studies with clear outcomes (viral load, immune markers, resistance profiles), robust analysis, and a concise “What this changes in practice” statement.

Topics of interest

Submissions may address (but are not limited to):

Viral Replication & Pathogenesis Host Immune Evasion Mechanisms Antimicrobial Resistance & Evolution Emerging & Zoonotic Viruses Microbiome-Host Crosstalk Virus-Host Protein Interactions Innate & Adaptive Immune Responses Advanced Models (Organoids, Spatial Omics) Antivirals, Vaccines & Therapeutics Bacterial-Viral Co-Infections Metabolic & Epigenetic Reprogramming Host-Pathogen Dynamics in Real-World Settings
