Summary

Xiaobin Zeng is a Research Professor in the Shenzhen People’s Hospital (The Second Clinical Medical College, Jinan University; the First Affiliated Hospital, Southern University of Science and Technology) and Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Regional Immunity and Diseases, Shenzhen, China. Xiaobin Zeng received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Wuhan University, and also holds a M.D. and M.S. in Microbiology and Biochemical Pharmacy. Dr. Zeng’s research program is focused on Chinese Herbs, cancer, the occurrence and development mechanism of cancer, the effects of functional foods/nutraceuticals on cancer, and bioactive compounds in natural products and herbal remedies for cancer. He has published over 70 scientific papers in Advanced Science, Nature Communications, EMBO Molecular Medicine, Cancer and Metastasis Reviews, Pharmacological Research, Food and Chemical Toxicology, Biochemical Pharmacology, Bioorganic Chemistry, Phytomedicine, Industrial Crops and Products and other journals. He has also applied 25 patents in China, included 1 National Utility Model Patent and 24 patents for inventions and 8 patents have already been authorized.

Dr. Zeng’s research program has focused on is focused on Chinese Herbs, cancer, the occurrence and development mechanism of cancer, the effects of functional foods/nutraceuticals on cancer, and bioactive compounds in natural products and herbal remedies for cancer. Specific interests include: 1) the occurrence and development mechanism of cancer; 2) health benefits of phytochemicals and their derivatives in Traditional Chinese Herbs with food and medicine homology; 3) Functional foods for disease prevention and health promotion targeted at cancers, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory diseases; and 4) natural products and herbal formulations for cancer.
