Clinical Excellence: Nursing Practice and Surgical Outcomes

This Special Issue of the Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences (JBRES) invites high-quality submissions that strengthen the evidence base for nursing in surgical and perioperative care. We welcome work that advances patient safety & perioperative practices, optimizes enhanced recovery, and demonstrates clinical & real-world effectiveness across diverse surgical populations and settings.

Nursing Practice & Safety
Perioperative protocols, aseptic technique, staffing ratios, pain management, infection prevention, emergency response, interdisciplinary collaboration.
Surgical Outcomes & Recovery
Enhanced recovery (ERAS), postoperative complications reduction, early mobilization, wound care, readmission prevention, quality metrics.

About this Special Issue

Surgical nursing excellence is strongest when it connects evidence-based practices with measurable patient outcomes and safety. This Special Issue focuses on clinical excellence in nursing—from perioperative preparation and intraoperative care to postoperative recovery, complication prevention, and system-level improvements. We especially welcome submissions that report transparent methods, practical endpoints, and insights that can enhance surgical care quality, equity, and long-term patient well-being.

Preference is given to studies with clear outcomes (complication rates, length of stay, readmissions, patient satisfaction), robust analysis, and a concise “What this changes in practice” statement.
