Exposure to Efficacy: Toxicology, Metabolism & Safety Science

This Special Issue of the Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences (JBRES) invites high-quality submissions that strengthen the evidence base for toxicology, metabolism, and safety assessment. We welcome work that improves predictive models & mechanisms, clarifies metabolic pathways & biomarkers, and demonstrates safety & translational relevance across chemicals, drugs, and environmental exposures.

Metabolism & Mechanisms
Drug/xenobiotic metabolism, CYP enzymes, phase I/II reactions, ADME, toxicokinetics, multi-omics biomarkers, adverse outcome pathways.
Safety & Predictive Models
In vitro/in silico toxicology, organ-on-chip, 3D models, nanotoxicology, safety pharmacology, risk assessment, translational safety science.

About this Special Issue

Toxicology and safety science are strongest when they connect mechanistic understanding with predictive tools and real-world protection. This Special Issue focuses on toxicology, metabolism & safety science—from exposure assessment and metabolic pathways to in vitro models, biomarkers, and regulatory-relevant translation. We especially welcome submissions that report transparent methods, robust endpoints, and insights that can improve hazard identification, risk mitigation, and safer drug/chemical development.

Preference is given to studies with clear outcomes (toxicity endpoints, NOAEL/LOAEL, mechanistic insights), robust analysis, and a concise “What this changes in practice” statement.

Topics of interest
