Summary

Dr. Salvador Sierra San Nicolsa is a neurologist with strong experience in basic and applied neuroscience research. Currently he is working on the interaction of cannabinoid and opioid receptors (receptor heteromers) in an animal model of chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain. He has extensive experience in pain behaviour experiments, functional assays (GTPgS, betaarrestin) and histological techniques such as immunostaining, proximity ligation assay or in situ hybridization. His PhD project was focused on the study of the adenosine and cannabinoid system within the output nuclei of the basal ganglia and its role in parkinsonism
