Biography
Naiya Patel, Ph.D. Student | MPH | BDS, is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at the University of Louisville, Department of Health Management and Systems Sciences, and is a CHOT research assistant. She has diverse work experience in Pharmaceuticals as well as in higher education as a Feasibility Specialist Associate and Graduate Research Assistant. She also served as a general dental practitioner in the clinical setting for a couple of years. Naiya graduated with an Academic Excellence award in Masters of Public Health from Long Island University Brooklyn and is an honored member of the Alpha Eta honorary society. She has served as President and Secretary for the Public Health Club at Long Island University and as an Oral Health Promoter at the Indian Redcross Society. Currently serving as an Editor of the Journal of Indonesian Health Administration (JAKI) and as a reviewer for reputable journal publishers, her goal is to contribute to the research community while also conducting research projects. Naiya’s research interests are health economics and outcomes research, health policies at the community and organizational level, digital storytelling, real world data analytics, and translational research in healthcare in general. An internationally trained dentist, her research interests are also in policies regulating tobacco, alternative tobacco products nationally and globally both in educational settings as well as the consumer and seller markets. She has authored and co-authored several publications and is a student member of Academy Health.
