Unani medicine, now predominantly followed in India originated from the Perso-Arabic traditional medicine as practiced in Muslim culture in South Asia and modern day Central Asia by ancient Greek physicians Hippocrates and Galen. Unani medicine is evidence based medical practices derived from long term practice relying on natural healing based on principles of harmony and balance, uniting the physical, mental, and spiritual realms.

Academic Journals in Unani outlines Unani practitioner’s concept of only assisting from outside i.e. out of the body by prescribing therapeutic relief. This alternate medicine works by self-regulating the elemental balance in the body thereby improving the natural immune system. Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences is an international journal that publishes content in the alternate medicine of Unani and provides unrestricted access to these articles to a diverse set of science enthusiasts.
