The subset of biology which is the study of plants is called botany. Botany finds applications in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, and forestry. Historically, botany was first studied to discover great medicinal values of various plants and herbs that were used to produce medicines. Later further discoveries led to branching out of this scientific study into aromatics and culinary purposes. Uses such as plant sap for making paper and raw products from plants for rubber were discovered uncovering the ecological as well as economic impact of this branch of study.
Largest open access Journal for Botany such as Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences act as open sources that provide unrestricted access to scientists and researchers to delve into this inexhaustible subject for advancement of science, technology and medicine related to plants and their physiology.
