Dysthymia, also known as persistent depressive disorder is a very common mental condition defined by consistent low mood for at least 2 years and persistence of at least 2 other symptoms of depression. Some of the symptoms that might help diagnose this condition are lost interest in normal activities, hopelessness, low self-esteem, low appetite, low energy, sleep changes and poor concentration.
Anxiety, relationship conflicts, decreased life quality and suicidal thoughts are some of the consequences of this mental condition. Peer reviewed research on Dysthymia is a highly coveted field of science and articles are stored in the open access journals like Journal of Biomedical Research & Environmental Sciences referred to by a diverse set of people in the scientific community.
