Dr. Changji Pan is a postdoctoral researcher specializing in ultrafast light-matter interactions, with expertise spanning ultrafast spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and coherent X-ray imaging with HHG and XFEL source. His research integrates advanced experimental techniques and computational analysis to probe structural and electronic dynamics on femtosecond timescales. He has applied these methods across diverse material systems, including aerosol nanoparticles, colloidal gold nanoparticles, and dielectric solids. His recent work at ETH Zurich, in collaboration with Prof. Daniela Rupp and Prof. Ruth Signorell, focuses on coherent imaging of aerosol water nanodroplets and simulating their freezing dynamics in vacuum. Previously, as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Duisburg-Essen, he investigated ultrafast energy relaxation processes in colloidal gold nanoparticles using XFEL-based X-ray diffraction. He has published in high-impact journals such as Light: Science & Applications, Applied Physics Letters, and The Journal of Physical Chemistry C (cover article). His interdisciplinary expertise also extends to femtosecond laser microfabrication, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, and computational modeling of ultrafast processes.
