    University of Birmingham

    United Kingdom

I am an environmental scientist having broad research interests in environmental toxicology and chemistry of traditional (e.g., heavy metals) and emerging (e.g., engineered nanomaterials, nano-/micro- plastic) environmental contaminants, and using nanotechnology to solve environmental issues. In particular, I have extensive expertise on the toxicological study of the pollutant using omics technology, focusing on a range of organisms. I am also interested in developing and setting up in vitro physiological barrier model for the toxicity risk assessment. I am also very interested in developing engineered nanomaterials for biomedical application. I have published 38 papers in journals including Nature Protocols, Nature Plants, PNAS, NanoToday, ES&T, ES&T Letters, Environment International and Environmental Science: nano. I am currently a member of Society of Toxicology (USA), and active reviewers for over 20 journals including ES&T, Environ. Sci.: Nano, Environ. Toxicol. Chem., Particle Fibre Toxicol., Environ. Pollut., etc.
