Zahra Safaei a junior researcher at the department of separation science, Lapeenranta University
of Technology-Finland, working on her doctoral thesis. She received her bachelor’s degree in
applied chemistry and her master’s degree in analytical chemistry. Author or co-author of more
than 40+ internationally refereed scientific papers. In addition, she has acted as a reviewer in
academic journals and instructor of master theses. Her interest is Environmental Monitoring,
Analysis and Modeling. she is endeavors to advance the understanding of statistical and ecological
theories, environmental risk assessment, and the monitoring of a variety of chemical compounds
entering the aquatic environment, especially the emerging pollutants targeted by strict regulatory
frameworks. Toward this goal, she is engaged in multilateral international research and scientific
collaboration with academia and industries, in Finland and across the world.

Dr. Georgia-Paraskevi Nikoleli obtained a PhD in Chemistry since 2015 from Laboratory of Inorganic & Analytical Chemistry, School of Chemical Engineering, Greece. She is currently has a position in University of Western Attica, She has ca. 61 scientific publications in peered reviewed scientific journals and she is the Editor of 4 Books and Guest Editor in 8 Journals [Sensors, Applied Sciences, Nanomaterials, Membranes, etc.]. She has participated and was the secretary in NATO ARW, 2011, Lunds, Sweden.. Her current interests include Analytical Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Atmospheric chemistry, Chemical sensors, Biosensors, Food analysis and safety, Environmental monitoring, Bioanalysis, Biochemical processes, Water Monitoring Biomembranes, Artificial and natural receptors, Lipid film based sensors, , Electroanalytic methods, Fluorometry , IR and Raman Spectroscopy,-New materials, Scanning electron microscopy, Electron Scanning Microscopy, TEM, Technological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Toxicants, Toxins Environmental Monitoring and Sciences, Doping Materials, Pesticides Artificial and Natural Receptors, Biofuels, Insecticides, Pesticides, Pathogens, Antibodies, Enzymes, Analysis of fruits and vegetables, Analysis of dairy products, Gas pollutants, Differential scanning calorimetry.

Dr. David Galan is a scientific researcher (from 2004 up to nowadays) in the Department of Atmospheric Pollution (National Reference Laboratory for Air Quality in Spain) of the National Center for Environmental Health (Health Institute Carlos III). He is the head of functional unit in that Department and holds a PhD in Inorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry by Complutense University of Madrid (Mention of European Doctorate). Similarly, Dr. Galán is an expert in instrumental techniques by Faculty of Chemical Sciences (Complutense University of Madrid) and holds a Master in Computer Science and Management as well as 31 specific courses. Dr. Galán has published more than 190 scientific-technical reports as well as more than 36 oral communications in international congresses, including air quality issues. Dr. Galán has been served as a member of Directive Board of a Scientific Society such Spanish Society for Environment Health (2013-2017), member of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN/TC 264 “Air Quality”), member of Workgroups for developing European Normative Projects, as WG 34 “Determination of anions and cations in ambient air”, member of Scientific and Management Committees in Scientific Congresses, Editorial Board Member for Annals of Civil and Environment Engineering, Journal of Epidemiology and Global Health Research and Environmental Science: Research and Reviews, technical assistant for the Expert Committee for air quality assessment during a large fire at a used tire landfill, as well as a member of board of national competitive exams in the field of research for Research Public Organizations on numerous occasions (2006-2019). Nowadays, he is Technical-Scientific Committee member for RELAB (Network of Biological Alert Laboratories). In teaching, Dr. Galán has been part of the Teachers Board in courses and masters of environmental techniques and air pollution. In researching, Dr. Galán has been a main research of 3 research projects and was included in the research team of numerous international research projects and contracts with the Public Administration. Dr. Galán has been responsible for the validation process and subsequent accreditation by ENAC (National Accreditation Entity for Spain) of more than 50 parameters.
