Biography

Vijay Mahant received his M.S., Ph.D., and first post-doctorate from LUT (UK). He received his second post-doctorate from the UT Health Science Center at Houston/MD Anderson, TX, USA). Dr. Mahant is a scientist and an entrepreneur with more than 35 years of experience in immuno-and precision medicine (oncology, cardiology, pain management and psychiatry, etc.). His work in diagnostics has included the next generation TSH assay, PSA, Pharmacogenetics, cervical cancer (Human Papilloma Virus) and infectious diseases such as TB and Respiratory Virus Panel (common flu,and a number of coronaviruses) . He held senior positions at Nicholas Institute/ Quest and executive positions at Qualigen and AGI.. He is a founder/co-founder of diagnostic companies such as MediLite. Dr. Manhunt has been involved in fund-raising (about $140 million), Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), including an acquisition. Dr. Mahant is currently the CSO of Oncology Pharma (contract will expire in October 2020). Oncology Pharma is focused on “targeted” chemos and bio-pharmaceutical based drugs “soft biopsies”, including precision oncology combined with artificial intelligence and machine learning. He is a former VP, Precision oncology, Batu Biologics (cellular antiangiogenic vaccine) and in addition, he served on SAB/MAB of Batu Biologics. Dr. Mahant is currently on the advisory board of several young biotech companies such as Trutino BioSciences (an oncology company developing IL-2 based drugs), and Immunicom (a cancer therapeutic device company) , including an oncology hospital (Chipsa) and United Cancer Center (Outpatient clinic, expected to be in operation in summer 2020) Dr. Mahant has 30 issued patents and five patents pending; he has authored and/or co-authored publications in journals and science books; he is the Section Editor for the “Echo System of Translational Medicine, Journal of Translational Medicine.
