For Authors
Submit your manuscript through our online submission system. You will need to provide the manuscript file, author details, abstract, and keywords. Full instructions are on our Submission Instructions page.
Our average editorial decision time is 8 business days from submission. Complex manuscripts or those requiring major revision may take longer. You will receive email updates at every stage of the process.
Yes. All articles published in JBRES are immediately and permanently freely available to anyone worldwide, at no charge to the reader. We do not have subscription or pay-per-view access options. All articles are published under CC BY 4.0.
Our APC covers editorial handling, peer review management, professional typesetting, DOI registration, indexing, and permanent archiving. For current pricing, see our Publication Fee page. Waivers are available for researchers from low-income countries.
Yes. We welcome submissions that have been posted on preprint servers such as bioRxiv, medRxiv, or SSRN. Please disclose the preprint in your cover letter and include the preprint DOI or URL. The preprint should not have been previously published in a peer-reviewed journal.
You do. JBRES publishes under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain full copyright and grant readers a broad license to reuse, adapt, and redistribute the work with appropriate attribution.
JBRES publishes articles in English only. Manuscripts written by non-native English speakers are welcome — we recommend English language editing before submission if required. We can suggest language editing services upon request.
Yes. Researchers from low- and middle-income countries (as classified by the World Bank) may apply for a full or partial APC waiver. See our Waiver Policy for eligibility and application details.

For Reviewers
We ask reviewers to complete their review within 14 days of accepting the invitation. Extensions are available — please contact us if you need more time rather than declining at the last moment.
Yes. JBRES uses double-blind peer review. Reviewers do not know the authors' identities, and authors do not know the reviewers' identities. All manuscripts under review are strictly confidential and must not be shared or discussed with third parties.
Yes. Reviewers who complete three or more reviews in a calendar year are acknowledged on our Reviewer Recognition page. We also issue annual Reviewer Certificates. Frequent reviewers may receive APC discounts on their own submissions.
You can register as a volunteer reviewer using our Reviewer Volunteer form. We will contact you when manuscripts matching your expertise are submitted.

No. JBRES is a legitimate open-access journal committed to rigorous peer review, transparent operations, and COPE-compliant publication ethics. We are indexed in DOAJ and CrossRef, which require verified adherence to ethical publishing standards.
