Biography

Ping Chen, PhD in medicine, Professor of internal medicine, Doctoral supervisor, Famous Xiangya doctor, Director of the research unit of respiratory diseases, Central South University, ChinaPing Chen received his Bachelor's degree and his approbation as doctor in 1985 from Hunan Medical University, China. In 1991 he obtained PhD in internal medicine from Hunan Medical University and then joined the laboratory at the University of lowa College of Medicine in the United States, in 2001 as a postdoctoral researcher. Dr. Chen has been a professor at the Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University since 2000. Prof Chen has been part of the editorial board of several international journals. He has presided 5 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, won 7 provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards, published 36 books and more than 400 peer-reviewed articles (more than 100 articles included in SCI). His research is focused on the mechanism research of COPD apoptosis and clinical research related to COPD.
