Mrs Despoina Pantazi graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Ioannina (UOI) in Greece, where she received her Master’s (2003) and PhD (2008) degrees in Biochemistry. Since 2018 she has been an academic staff (LTS class A, permanent staff) at the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, UOI. She is also a partner at the Atherothrombosis Research Center (ARC) of the Network of Research Support Laboratories at the UOI (from 2021) (https://atherothrombosis.lab.uoi.gr). Cognitive object “Biochemistry”. She taught 3rd and 4th-year undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Chemistry (Clinical Chemistry, Introduction to Clinical Biochemistry, Biochemistry Laboratory, Advanced Biochemistry Laboratory, etc.) and the postgraduate course “Medical Chemistry”, most recently until 2023.She received a two-month Scientific leave abroad (June-July 2024) for a research collaboration at the Institut Sant Pau of the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Spain. She has participated in research programs (additional employment). She has been a scholarship holder of the Erasmus Staff Training program four times and she received fellowships from SSF and FEBS, 4 awards for presentations, 1 commendation for a work presentation and an award from the Academy of Athens. She publishes in international journals (https://orchid.org/0000-0001-6636-5959) and organized and presented 5 webinars. She is also co-author of chapters in two books (“Kallipos-Open Scientific Books” ΙSBN: 978-618-228-225-0 and a book in a global edition, ISBN: 978-81-308-0343-2). Invited speaker at Greek conferences. Reviewer of articles in Greek and international journals (more than 50 reviews in 22 journals). She has participated in Greek and international conferences with more than 80 abstracts. She supervised 13 bachelor's theses and was a member of a three-person commission for a master's thesis, as also the supervisor of a master's thesis. She is currently the supervisor of two master's theses.Member of the Steering Committee of the Institute for Study and Education in Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Education (ISETAT, www.imetha.gr/en) for the period 10/2022-10/2024 and 10/2024-10/2026. Member of Greek scientific societies (HSBMB, AGC board member in 2 working groups, HAS and member in 1 working group) as well as in international scientific organisations (EMLTD, EAS, ΕSC- member in 3 working groups and ISTH Academy).
